Resident Evil Story (1996)
Resident Evil (also known as Biohazard in Japan) is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. The game was released in 1996 and is the first game in the Resident Evil series.
The game takes place in a remote mansion located in the outskirts of Raccoon City. The player assumes the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, members of the elite task force known as S.T.A.R.S., who are sent to investigate the disappearance of their team members.
As the investigation progresses, the team discovers that the mansion is infested with zombies and other creatures created by the Umbrella Corporation's T-virus. The player must navigate through the mansion, solving puzzles and fighting off the infected creatures in order to uncover the truth behind the virus and the mansion's secrets.
The game's story revolves around the Umbrella Corporation, a multinational conglomerate that secretly develops biological weapons. The T-virus was developed by the company as a biological weapon, but it accidentally leaked from the mansion's laboratory, infecting the mansion's staff and turning them into zombies.
As the player progresses through the game, they learn more about the Umbrella Corporation's sinister plans and the true nature of the virus. Eventually, the player confronts the game's primary antagonist, Albert Wesker, who reveals that he has been working with Umbrella to develop the virus as a means of creating superhumans.
In the game's final battle, the player must defeat the mutated form of the mansion's former leader, a scientist named William Birkin, who was exposed to the virus and transformed into a monstrous creature. The game ends with the player escaping the mansion and the revelation that the T-virus has spread beyond Raccoon City, setting the stage for the events of the later games in the series.
